Most of you already know that I’m a big fan of San Diego sports teams. I’ve had priceless experiences while cheering on my San Diego Padres. Now I want to share an amazing experience I recently had at the San Diego Chargers vs Jacksonville Jaguars game on Sunday September 28th, 2014. I am one of those people who always wins things. I believe this is the case because I frequently state “I always win” and then a self fulfilling prophecy happens, where the universe conspires with me to make this theory come true! I was the lucky winner of State Farm’s Total Coverage Sweepstakes. I have been a State Farm Customer for over 10 years so this was a nice surprise! (Winners do not need to be State Farm Customers. They have one winner for every game so anyone can enter here). I received the honor of sitting on the actual field in a recliner to watch the game.  I was so close to the action that I wanted to jump in and play myself!

When I first arrived I was escorted into the game from the VIP entrance and given a field pass. I was then led to the area I would be sitting at right as the players were heading out to warm up. My VIP host (yes I had a host!) told me to immediately take out my camera when I got there and he was definitely giving me the right advice because seconds later, Philip Rivers ran out followed by the rest of the players to warm up.

I received cold water which were much needed on a hot day and I felt right at home in my nice recliner. I have sat in some good seats in the stadium but this was by far the best seat in the entire house. Since the Chargers were winning I just kicked my feet up and relaxed as the boys took care of things on the field.

The Chargers completely shut out their opponents after half time and completed the game with 23 unanswered points for a 33-14 victory. Being so close to the players made the experience surreal and at the same time gave me an appreciation for the game from a new perspective. I also got to high five over a dozen players after the win.

After the team exited the field, I had a chance to walk in right behind them to the locker room area. While  many reporters were waiting for players to interview. I scored a few autographs and I got a hold of an official game winning NFL ball.

Thank you to State Farm and the Chargers for hosting me. This is another experience that I’ll always remember. I wish my team much success as they continue on with the season. And remember, think of yourself as a winner (never say, “I never win”. If you do make this bold statement, you’ll continue being someone who never wins.) and might just end up in my shoes, or in this case, seats.
