Giveaway: Win a Complimentary Entry for Digital Media Dinners

November 5, 2010 5

I’m looking forward to hosting the first of my Digital Media Dinners series at Jasmine Restaurant this coming Tuesday November 9th starting at 5:30pm. We’re excited to announce an amazing lineup of panelists that will share their experience on how they’re succeeding through the use of social media and give you tips on how you can do the same.

The panelists are:
Kevin La Rue, Marketing Director of Nik Software
Daniel Matthews, Marketing Director of the San Diego Asian Film Foundation
Steve Stoloff, CEO of VAVi Sport and Social Club

I’m providing an opportunity for two lucky people to win complimentary entry into the Digital Media Dinners event.  Please post a comment on this blog post answering either question:

  1. (If you’re already using Social Media) How has Social Media helped with the growth of your business?
  2. (If you’re new to Social Media) How do you envision Social Media helping your business?

Anyone who retweets this blog post on Twitter will also receive an additional entry.

Two lucky winners will be randomly chosen on Monday Nov. 8th, 2010. If you don’t win you can still receive $5 off by joining Marketing Melodie on Facebook. Good luck and see you next Tuesday!

  1. Social media helps professionally and personally, with exponential exposure to the vast number of people in the various industries, or that have shared interests, or that communicate interest in various services or products. Success is determined by how well you can find, engage, and build relationships with new people you come across, or that come across you.

@DowntownRob- Thanks for sharing your insight. I completely agree with you on success being how well you “engage and build relationships”. Most want to measure success by how much money they can make from Social Media so it's important for Marketing/Social Media professionals like us to do a good job educating others that Social Media is not all about making a direct return on investment from a monetary perspective.

Social media keeps my business in front of people… when you post interesting updates people will see my area expertise and think of me when they are looking for my particular type of business. Social media also lets people get to know my company on a more personal level and helps me stand out from the hundreds of other businesses competing against me who just have a web site or worse, no online presence at all. It is a way to prove myself before a relationship develops. If I post great updates and videos and my competition doesn't, the customer will already feel that they know that I have what it takes and use my service. Social media also helps people find me. For some search terms, I may not be at the top of google, but since they are my friend on Facebook they already know to think of me without even having to do a search.

Looks like a great lineup! I'm sure this will be a great event!

Hello Marketing Melodie! Social Media has helped the increase the attendance of my non – profit charity gala by keeping the younger demographic of philanthropists updated on all new activities pertaining to the event and organization as a whole. Interest in updates and keeps our followers involved and wanting to know “…what's next.” Attendance is key in an annual event as ours, and growing our network of young philanthropists interested in fashion and family helps our beneficiaries.
